Economic impact on Local Arts
SMAC is a dynamic partner in areas of economic and community development and advocacy and advances awareness of the values and existence of arts opportunities in the region. As a local arts agency, SMAC has a significant role in the fiber of our community.
The economic climate in the Sacramento Region, the state and the nation is one of uncertainty. All areas of the private and public sectors are feeling the effects of these difficult times and many are having to make tough decisions about how to accommodate sluggish consumption and cuts to income sources. In the thick of it are Sacramento’s arts organizations.

Recovery Act Opportunities Besides the National Endowment for the Arts
The staff at the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) has been hard at work identifying potential assistance for arts-related and creative economy jobs, including from sources besides the National Endowment for the Arts. Arts organizations and creative-sector employers are encouraged to examine NASAA's information for potential job stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
