APP POLICY AND ORDINANCES
The framework for Sacramento’s Art in Public Places Program is a City Ordinance, County Ordinance and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency. The program is governed by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission and the Art in Public Places Committee (a sub-committee of the Commission), guided by Policies and Procedures established in 1983 and managed by staff at the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission.
In the spring of 2006 the agency completed a national public art survey to assess its position nationally. The Art in Public Places Program is one of the oldest programs in the country and one of the few City/County joint agency programs.
