ARTS & ECONOMIC PROSPERITY IV
SMAC is proud to announce the findings of Arts & Economic Prosperity IV - Sacramento County, part of a nationwide study conducted by Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America.
The data was collected from a sampling of 268 participants (41 percent of eligible nonprofit arts and culture organizations identified by SMAC) from fiscal year 2010 and quantifies the economic impact of these groups alone at $112 million. This reflects $82.1 million in spending directly by the arts and culture organizations and $29.9 million in directly related spending by their audiences.
The participating organizations supported 3,658 full-time jobs, and 783 additional jobs were supported by economic activity directly attributed to their audiences. Household income generated from these jobs was more than $97 million, and local and state government revenue combined topped $13 million.
ARTS & ECONOMIC PROSPERITY TOOL KIT
In a region-wide effort to publicize these findings, SMAC has rolled out an economic impact toolkit to arts and cultural organizations in the region with data and graphics to inlcude in programs, playbills, social media and marketing materials.
