GRANTS
Please see the Arts Stabilization Program for grants furthering the organizational development of nonprofit arts organizations and the professional development of individual artists and arts groups.
Arts Innovation Fund
The extraordinary creative vitality of Sacramento’s arts community has been instrumental in sustaining the arts through the current economic crisis. Arts organizations carry their mission forward because of their fearless ability to adapt and transform, bending creatively with the needs and wants of their audiences. Innovations in thought, design, implementation and experimentation have resulted in relatively strong participation.
With this in mind, the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) and the Sacramento Region Community Foundation (SRCF) have partnered together for the first time to reward innovative strategies through the Arts Innovation Fund (AIF) program. The grant award will support the ongoing nourishment of arts organizations’ innovative strategies. Through their innovation, some organizations have made significant leaps forward with box office successes; others have approached their business with new paradigms. Recognition of these new strategies is important to ensure their sustainability and foster support for the creative growth - organizationally and artistically - of arts organizations.
Cultural Arts Awards
The Cultural Arts Awards (CAA) program assists Sacramento City and County nonprofit arts and cultural organizations with partial funding for support of general operating expenses or arts project support. Applications for the Cultural Arts Awards are invited every three years; nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, government arts agencies, community organizations and nonprofits organizations that conduct arts programs are eligible to submit an application.
Cultural Arts Awards are awarded through a competitive review process, ensuring that grantees meet high standards of artistic quality, show evidence of community involvement and outreach, and exhibit sound managerial and fiscal accountability. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $50,000.
ArtScapes
ArtScapes offers an opportunity for established and newly formed small arts groups to produce an exciting arts project in any art form or disciplinethat inspires, ignites and provokes. The ArtScapes Grant Program seeks to foster projects that will be culturally significant, of rich artistic quality and help to build the region’s cultural identity. Applications for the ArtScapes grant are invited every other year; arts groups of at least three or more members are eligible to submit an application. Nonprofit status is not required.
ArtScapes grants are awarded through a competitive review process. Grantees have one year to finish the funded project. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $5,000. (Collapse text)
